The following aspects should be considered in Titanium alloy processing method:
1. A smaller front Angle and a larger back Angle are used to increase the contact length between the chips and the front knife tool surface,reduce the friction between the workpiece and the back blade,the tool tip adopts an arc transition blade to improve the strength,avoid burning of sharp corners and cutting edges. Keep the blade sharp to ensure smooth chip removal and avoid chip collapse the blade.Cutting speed should be low, lest cutting temperature is too high; Moderate feeding rate, if too large easy to burn knife tool,If it is too small, it will wear too fast because the blade works in the work hardening layer; The cutting depth can be larger, making the tool tip work below the hardened layer, which is conducive to improving the tool durability.
2.Use carbide cutters tools where possible,for example, tungsten cobalt carbide and titanium alloy have a low chemical affinity, good thermal conductivity and high strength.Impact resistant ultrafine carbide can be selected for intermittent cutting at low speed.High speed steel with good high temperature performance is available for forming and complex cutting tools.
