Manufacturing characteristics of CNC four-axis machining mold:
1.Cutting and high speed milling technology.
Traditional cutting methods, such as turning, milling, planing, grooving, drilling, etc., are all applied to mold processing without exception.High speed milling is one of the most widely used cutting techniques,tools used include end milling cutters with indexable blades and ball milling cutters.
In recent years, one of the research hotspots of mold manufacturing technology is the further improvement and application of high speed milling technology.High speed milling has the advantages of low temperature rise of workpiece, small cutting force, stable processing, good processing quality, high processing efficiency (5-10 times higher), hard materials can be processed (<60HRC), and so on.Therefore, more and more attention is paid to the mold processing.
2. Grinding
Form grinding is a high precision and high efficiency machining method.In mold manufacturing, form grinding is mainly used for fine blanking, block die and electrode in edm.Form grinding can be done on a form grinder or surface grinder.
3. Grinding and polishing
The machined workpiece surface, no matter what its surface roughness, it must be re-polished.There are three ways to smooth the rough surface: remove material, reconfigure material, and add material.
At present, the grinding and polishing of the mold is still dominated by manual or electropneumatic equipment, with low efficiency, high labor intensity and unstable quality.The traditional polishing method is to remove the material from the side wall of the cavity to make the surface smooth.So far, the surface finishing problem of the mold has not been solved.
